Hawx Pest Control Plans and Services

Whether you need specific pests targeted by your pest control provider, such as termites or bed bugs, or you’re just looking for a general pest control solution, Hawx offers plenty of plans and services to choose from.

With all plans and services, you can expect a technician to perform the following four elements of Hawx’s pest control process:

  1. Treat the foundation of your property to establish a barrier of protection from invading pests
  2. Inspect your entire yard and build a perimeter that goes beyond just the structure of your home
  3. Install water-activated granules in your yard, eliminating nesting sites and preventing pests from entering your home
  4. Clean out the eaves of your home by knocking down nests and cobwebs

Home Service Plan

The company’s ongoing general pest control plan is called the Home Service Plan, available with a choice of quarterly pest services or bi-monthly pest services. With the quarterly plan, you’ll see your pest control specialist four times per year, plus one additional initial service during the first year of the plan. With the bi-monthly plan, your technician will come out a total of seven times in your first year and six in the years following—once every two months.

Both plans come with free re-services that you may need if pests ever return in between treatments. For example, if you see a pest, you can contact your technician for additional treatments, even if your scheduled visit isn’t for another month.

The Home Service Plan covers most common household pests. Here are a few examples of pests covered in this plan:

Note: Excluded pests in this plan include German roaches, fire ants, rodents, and inspect pollinators.

Mosquito Abatement Plan

Mosquitoes can be somewhat difficult to remove from your property due to the extensive outdoor treatments and frequency of visits needed. Because of this, Hawx Pest Control offers the Mosquito Abatement Plan with monthly treatments during peak season, free re-services when needed, specialty treatments for mosquito nests and larvae, and a satisfaction guarantee.

Each technician customizes a plan based on your property, finding and treating the moist areas in your yard where mosquitoes may be breeding in addition to identifying nests in your lawn, bushes, and trees.

Termite Control Service

Hawx Pest Control can also provide treatments for termite problems. If you think you have a termite issue, you can schedule a free inspection and a technician will check your home for signs of invasions.

Once the level of infestation is determined, the technician will consult you on the best plan of attack for removing the termites. The most common method Hawx uses is the Advance Termite Bait System. A pest professional places and monitors multiple bait traps in all of the target areas that can disrupt and destroy entire colonies of termites.

Hawx can also use other treatments to get rid of termites, such as foaming and spraying applications, depending on your home’s needs.

Other Services

Although not included in the standard Home Service Plan, Hawx offers specialized coverage for rodents, bed bugs, and fire ants, but you may have to pay more for those treatments. When you get a quote by phone or during the initial inspection, speak with the representative or on-site professional about what types of treatments are recommended for your situation.

Hawx Pest Control Locations

Hawx isn’t available everywhere, but it has locations in 12 states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.

Hawx Pest Control Pricing

Like most pest control companies, Hawx Pest Control’s pricing can vary depending on what you need. While you can typically get quote information by phone for general pest control services, you’ll need to schedule an inspection for targeted pest control services, such as termite and bed bug treatments.

We received a quote for a 3,000-square-foot home in Raleigh, North Carolina, to give you an idea of what pricing typically looks like for general pest control plans from Hawx. Here are the details from the quote:

  • Initial treatment: $350
  • Monthly cost (after initial treatment): $50 per month
  • Discount offered: $150 off
  • Cancellation: Reimbursement of any discounted amounts

What to Expect with Hawx Pest Control

When you speak to a representative from Hawx Pest Control, you’ll be asked a few questions and given an estimated quote for your pest control services. You should be prepared with the following information:

  • Type of treatment needed
  • Phone number
  • ZIP code
  • Home size
  • Home type
  • Payment information
  • Available upcoming dates and times for scheduling

If you’re looking for more than a general pest control plan, such as a termite treatment or mosquito abatement plan, pricing won’t be available by phone. However, Hawx does offer free inspections for its specialty treatments.

During the initial inspection, you can expect a technician to check your entire home for signs of an infestation and develop a pest control strategy that’s customized to your house and infestation level. Then, the technician will consult you on pricing before applying any treatments. Once you confirm the plan, the pest specialist will perform the initial treatment.

If pests return, you can expect your Hawx Pest Control professional to come back to your property for additional treatments free of charge with the company’s re-service guarantee.

Hawx Pest Control Reviews

Hawx Pest Control has an A- rating by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with more than 1,000 customer reviews. To get an overall sense of customer satisfaction and common themes in customer feedback, we analyzed more than 100 reviews from third-party sites like the BBB and Best Company.

In general, many customers express happiness with the communication, timeliness, and attitude of their scheduled technician, while a few complain about aggressive sales tactics, long hold times, and poor experiences with the on-site professionals.

Here are some Hawx pest control reviews from the BBB:

David G. says:

“Excellent service, great value. They text the day before they arrive. Always willing to spray inside the house in addition to outside. Technicians are very nice.”

Dyan W. says:

“I tried to call several times to discuss services after my initial visit from the salesman. I would hold for 10 minutes then leave my number for a call back. No one ever called back! This went on for a few weeks until I finally gave up.”

Jamie S. says:

“The tech that came out was attentive, thorough, listened well, and was careful where he sprayed. Our basement needed spraying and we are in the middle of laying hardwood floors. He did well working around the mess and helped us with the interior spider issue we were concerned about. Nice company and easy to work with. I’d recommend them to anyone needing a new provider.”

Steward B. says:

“Some random salesman walked onto my property and offered a discounted service for treatment while I was working in my yard. I specifically stated that I only wanted one treatment and not a yearly subscription. They signed me up for a yearly subscription anyway, and when I went to cancel it, I was charged a $60 cancellation fee.”

Frequently Asked Questions About Hawx

Is Hawx Pest Control worth it?

It can be difficult to deal with tricky pests on your own, such as bed bugs, termites, and mosquitoes. For many homeowners, pest control solutions such as Hawx are worth it.

Hawx offers comprehensive general pest control plans that cover your home’s pest issues throughout the year and prevent pests from invading. Plans also include a re-service guarantee, ensuring that your home and yard will be protected if pests appear between treatments.

How much does Hawx Pest Control cost?

Based on the sample quotes we received during our research, you can expect to pay between $700 and $900 per year for your pest control plan with payments broken up on a monthly basis. However, Hawx’s pricing can vary depending on your home’s size, its location, and your specific infestation, so we recommend getting your own quote.

Do pests come back after a pest control service?

There’s never a guarantee that pests will disappear forever after a pest control service, no matter how thorough the treatment. That’s why many companies, including Hawx Pest Control, offer free re-services between treatments if you encounter issues apart from your regular treatment schedule.

Our Conclusion

Although only available in various cities in 12 states across the country, Hawx Pest Control is one of the best providers in the areas it services. We were particularly impressed with its Mosquito Abatement Plan for its thorough monthly treatments against mosquitoes during peak seasons, but its general pest control plans also come highly recommended by many satisfied customers.

If you’re hesitant to choose Hawx due to its cancellation fees, or it doesn’t offer service in your area, we recommend getting quotes from other top pest control companies, such as Terminix and Orkin.

Our Rating Methodology

The This Old House Reviews Team backs up our pest control recommendations with a detailed rating methodology that we use to objectively score each provider.
